Little Eats Ratings

Each cafe we review, receives a Little Eats rating.
Not out of stars, but out of 5 milkshakes! Yum!
5 milkshakes
If a cafe scores 5 milkshakes out of 5, then they pretty much welcome babies, toddlers kids and families with open arms! Yay, we say! It also means they will generally provide all or most kid-friendly amenities - highchairs, changing facilities, pram access, a kids menu, a play area or toys as well as family friendly, welcoming and accommodating staff. So it really is a perfect choice to take your little ones to.

4 milkshakes
If a cafe scores a 4 then we think that they are still pretty kid friendly, however they may only provide a couple of kid friendly amenities (eg: highchairs only, which are much more common in cafes than change tables). However the atmosphere and staff are kid-friendly and welcoming and the food is good, still making it a fine choice for families.

3 milkshakes
If we give a cafe a score of 3, then it usually means that it doesn’t necessarily provide many kid-friendly amenities, so on the surface it may not appear to be kid friendly at all, however if we have had a pleasant experience there and the food, coffee and babycino’s are good and the staff are welcoming and accommodating then we have still chosen to include them on our site.

If we visit a cafe and end up giving them a score that is under 3, then they probably aren’t suitable for little ones anyway, so we have chosen not to include them on our site.

We hope our milkshake scoring system helps make things a lot easier for you when searching for a cafe, as it means that all of the venues we include on our site definitely are kid-friendly and welcoming to little ones.
