Happy River Cafe certainly makes for happy families. There is a huge lawn area out the front with mats and cushions and all sorts of toys from old books to xylophones, to Thomas the tank to cricket bats, and there is even complimentary sunscreen. There are highchairs too, but alas no change table in the toilets, however the toilets are very spacious. The kids menu is fantastic and full of favourite treats including fairy bread, little boys with sauce, toasted cheesy’s and gingerbread men.
On top of all the kid-friendly ticks, Happy River Cafe also gets another big tick for the varied breakfast and lunch menus and of course the drinks menu complete with beer, wine and bubbly.
The atmosphere is great and even though there are kids running and playing everywhere, it doesn’t feel chaotic or crazy or crowded, in fact the vibe is most certainly relaxed, laidback and well, just, happy.
