2773 is located on the main street of Glenbrook, around little chic boutique stores of handpicked items. Parking is easy to locate on the main street or in the carpark located a hundred meters from the café. When entering 2773, staff are quick to welcome you with a smile and assist you in finding a place to sit and relax. The open planned café allows for customers to sit on the artificial grass, at the picnic style tables or a range of smaller tables both inside and out. Should you decide to sit outside, there are beanbags and picnic blankets for extra comfort and warmth during the cooler days.
2773 offers a large all-day breakfast menu to meet everyone’s needs. Should you feel like something light, Middle Eastern fruit toast ($5) or banana bread toasted with ricotta, honey and pistachios ($8) may take your fancy. Personally, I couldn’t pass the ricotta hotcakes with caramelised banana, honeycomb butter and maple syrup ($16), which was delightful. Traditional and healthy options are also available, ranging from $13-$17. You may also customise your own breakfast.
Nourishing and healthy main meals are also available, for lunch or dinner. The meals are well presented, sizable and filling. The menu caters for a variety of dietary needs, including vegetarian, vegan and celiac. The price ranges from $17-$23. A number of items on the menu can also be shared as they come in a platter looking style, such as Ploughman’s Plank (Rare roast beef, aged cheddar, pickled onions, gherkin, Branston pickle, sliced apple, sourdough and beetroot apple relish) and vegetable souvlaki (capsicum, onion, mushroom, haloumi, heirloom tomato and baby beets with lemon wedge, tzatziki, flat bread and dukkha).
The locally sourced “Rawsome Creations” (Gluten free, dairy free, refined sugar free, raw, vegan, handmade and delicious) mango lime cheesecake with coconut macaroon ice cream, which I found to be scrumptious and I highly recommend it.
The kids menu is similar to other restaurants, including cheese burger and fries and fish and chips and ranges from $3.50 (grilled cheese on a piece of toast) to $10 (for house made chicken breast tenders and the aforementioned items).
For a café, 2773 has numerous activities for the kids to enjoy. There are farm animals (miniature pigs, chickens and a sheep), but only to look at unfortunately, a cubby house with a play area and colour-in items. The artificial grass area allows space for the young ones to move around and use up their energy.
2773 provides not only great tasting food, but a great location for the kids to relax and play. The open yet fenced outdoor area provides a safe space for the kids to be kids while you enjoy your meal. This will definitely be one to go back to!
