It’s always such a good feeling when we discover another cafe that is kid-friendly and gets all the Little Eats ticks, and of course has great food and coffee too for us grown ups too. So we are delighted to be able to add Bean Counter Cafe to our website, and to give them 5 out of 5 milkshakes!
Bean Counter is located in lovely Fairfield, on the corner of a tree lined side street opposite the station. They have pretty much thought of everything in terms of kid-friendliness – highchairs, a change table, cups of textas for colouring in, kids books to read, a lovely spacious courtyard out the back with mini tables and chairs for the little ones, brightly coloured plastic tumblers for the kids drinks, special kid’s breakfast items, lots of sweet treats, welcoming staff, the fab new Cafe Kidz Activity packs on sale for $5 each, and of course we can’t forget the Baby-cino.
For breakfast you can enjoy Bircher muesli, La Madre toast and fruit loaf, Avocado and tomato on toast, pancakes with berries and ice cream, corn and zucchini fritters, free range eggs on toast, eggs benedict or a big breakfast. And for your little ones, there are even two special items to choose from – kid’s size pancakes, or egg on toast, both for $6.90.
For lunch there are sandwiches, toasties, salads and pies. And to drink, their excellent coffee as well as baby-cino’s, hot chocolates, smoothies, and Emma and Tom’s juices.
Feeling like a sneaky treat with your morning or afternoon coffee? Then look no further than the array of muffins, cookies, danishes, fudge and cake on display at the counter, and of course the little ones aren’t forgotten with smilie face cookies.
When we visited Bean Counter Cafe one sunny morning for breakkie, the majority of the patrons were parents with little ones in tow. There is plenty of room inside for prams, as well as tables on the street, and of course ample space in the sunny courtyard out the back.
Bean Counter Cafe is no doubt a favourite with many of the local families, however if you aren’t local but are looking for a suitable venue for breakfast, coffee, lunch or brunch with the kids, then Bean Counter Cafe is definitely worth a visit.
