“Cafe food shouldn’t be boring or quickly thrown together. It should be of the same high quality as a five star restaurant. You should want to linger over a perfect, leisurely breakfast on a Sunday morning”. David Bitton. Bitton’s theme is French café-style food in a relaxed setting.
The café is set up well so parents with children sit in the back section, which is enclosed with tables and an alcove full of toys and a TV for the children. More importantly, Bitton has a liquor licence! So why not bring the kids here for dinner and enjoy some of David Bitton’s carefully selected wines.
The kids menu is $10 for all items but is more adventurous than most kids food in other cafes. I applaud the fact that chips are not on offer with every meal, instead selected meals come with salad, broccoli or apple puree. Options include bacon and cheese toastie with salad, scrambled eggs with mushrooms and Turkish soldiers, crumbed chicken with mozzarella and pommes puree and beef fillet with pomme frites and broccoli.
