Courtyard Cafe da Capo is hidden away in a gorgeous courtyard within historic Sydney Hospital, overlooking the Robert Brough Memorial Fountain. This romantic building with its sandstone facade is steeped in history and so different from the modern architecture around the rest of the CBD.
The outdoor seating is ideal for families as it offers plenty of room for restless little ones to run and explore, away from the road. The staff were friendly, accommodating and the food was served quickly.
The menu is Italian inspired and lunch features pasta, salads, open sandwiches and frittata ($5 – $26.90). The kids pasta is $10 with napoli, bolognese or pesto sauce. The Mediterranean salad ($17.90) was fresh, colourful and bursting with flavour. If you would prefer to sit in the botanic gardens or Domain with the little ones, they have some fantastic takeaway specials. These include salads for only $10, salt and pepper squid for $15 and soup of the day with bread for $8. For those with a sweet tooth, their award winning gelato is $3.50 a scoop and comes in a variety of gourmet flavours.
Courtyard Cafe da Capo is the place to ‘get away from it all’ in the city. Enjoy the relaxed surrounds and the ability to let the little ones explore and play in the courtyard.
