Crest Birubi Beach is one of Port Stephens’ best kept secrets. You would be hard pressed to find a more picturesque location for breakfast or lunch in the area. The added bonus for us parents is that is is awesome for little ones too. The cafe is located within Birubi Point Surf Life Saving Club and just nearby on Birubi Beach you will find some exciting activities such as camel riding and 4WD safaris.
Breakfast is served daily from 8am and they don’t take bookings. On a fine day, the alfresco seating is the ideal spot for families. The breakfast menu has a big focus on eggs. Eggs your way, Eggs Benedict, bacon and egg roll and the big breakfast! For something lighter, choose from ham and cheese croissant, banana bread or bircher muesli. A must try dish is the smoky Boston style baked beans served on sourdough.
Little ones have their own menu for lunch, which also includes an activity pack. Choose from chicken nuggets, beef lasagne or fish & chips. Lunch is a more refined affair with wine, beer and decadent seafood platters on offer. They do serve dinner Thursday to Sunday night and bookings are advised.
If you ever find yourself in beautiful Port Stephens, make sure you make a trip to Crest Birubi Beach for a relaxed meal with million dollar views. Between May and early August you may even be lucky enough to see a Humpback or Southern Right whale during their annual migration south or one of their resident pods of dolphins.
