Foodies was awarded the ‘best café in Australia’ and it’s the little things that set it apart; especially its amazing produce- Brasserie Bread, Di Gabriel coffee and Farmer Jo muesli. The service is fast and efficient, the décor cool and the staff very welcoming of families. There isn’t a huge amount of room for prams inside however plenty outside on the pavement. We visited on a weekday morning and the café was buzzing with families and toddlers in high chairs.
‘Little Foodies’ are well looked after here with $10.50 meals, which includes a poppa and $2 from each meal goes to The Prince of Wales Children’s Hospital. What a great idea! For breakfast, they can choose from pancakes or bacon and eggs on toast. Lunch is schnitzel, penne or beef burger. Little ones will also love checking out the baked goods on display and the cute mini cupcakes for $3.
Foodies are famous for their huge brekky pans – both with meat ($17.50) and vegetarian ($16.50). There are plenty of healthy options too from fruit salad ($7.50) to Famer Jo muesli with yoghurt ($9). Lunch was just coming out as we left and it all looked delicious – I can’t wait to come back and try.
They have loaves of their beautiful Brasserie Bread to take home for around $7.50 and plenty of takeaway options if you want to grab takeaway and head to the park or the beach.
