Forty Beans is a charming cafe located opposite the North Harbour Reserve, it is also a good pit stop if you’re doing the Spit to Manly walk. You can’t miss it; it sits behind the playground and has a mural in the front of the “regulars” enjoying their coffees and food.
The café is a good size but does not have too many seating areas. The best option with little ones is to order takeaway and head to the park and playground.
The little ones have plenty of food choices. There are fruit cups, banana bread, salads and sandwiches. Or from the blackboard menu there are toasties. For an afternoon treat on a hot day the gelato will be a hit or one of the many delicious baked goods will be hard to say no to.
The staff are friendly and the coffee is excellent. They choose to use certified fair trade organic coffee by Toby’s Estate (or there is tea by Somage which is a loose leaf tea also certified fair trade). On the back shelves you will also see specialty gourmet products from Hank’s Jam, Pantry essentials, Gourmet Blends and more.
