Girdlers is fantastic for families of all shapes and sizes. A true kid-friendly cafe in the heart of Dee Why beach. They pride themselves on serving simple honest food and great coffee.
The food here is absolutely delicious! Miss 3 is a huge haloumi fan, so the kids box that contained honey baked carrots, haloumi, popcorn and fruit went down a treat. Though not a large kids menu, it was so refreshing to have a menu that offered healthy and tasty kids meals (grilled chicken, eggs etc). There wasn’t much left on the plate/in the box after lunch. She teamed it up with a killer kid-sized choccy milkshake.
With a huge range of healthy juices and smoothies, every taste is catered for. The adult menu was delicious and the food was presented beautifully, though servings were on the smaller side. We had the prosciutto crepes and chicken and haloumi tacos and were both still quite peckish afterwards. Being that they were so healthy, I didn’t feel as guilty picking up an ice-cream down the road afterwards. 😉
We had our newborn with us and there was plenty of room for prams outside, and enough room for one or two inside. Though you may need a lift up the 3 stairs. The toilets are clean but aren’t pram friendly and don’t have change facilities.
A final positive – their straw free movement. We bring our own aluminium straws to avoid using plastic and save the environment, but they proudly use paper straws here. Hopefully, many more cafes follow suit shortly.
