The concept of Jungle Buddies is fantastic and so different to any other play centre in Sydney. They are all about providing an environment where little ones can exercise and have fun as well as nourish their bodies with a delicious cafe menu. The play centre is bright and fresh with plenty of seating for adults. There are several play structure that cater for all ages as well as a dedicated toddler section for 3 and under.
You won’t find any processed or fried food here, like other play centres. The focus is on wholesome and nourishing meals from local producers. The menu has been created by Tawnya Bahr who is a mum, chef and qualified food consultant. The ‘Cheeky Monkeys’ menu is reasonably priced, ranging from $2 to $8.50. For an ultra healthy meal, go for the milk bottle with Bowen Island almond muesli ($4.50); the fruit salad ($3) or vegetable sticks with hummus ($6). We ordered the vegetable sticks; pasta bolognese ($8.50) and free-range chicken slider ($4.50). All the kids meals were delicious and the large portion sizes meant they could easily be shared.
For adults, they offer the ‘Breakfast of Chimpanzees’, jaffles, pizza, pasta and salads. All meals are really reasonable so you really can make the most of the little ones playing and have a healthy meal. If you have a food intolerance, the menu caters for dairy-free, gluten-free, vegetarian and nut-free requirements.
