Kafeine is a stand out amongst the bustling Darling St cafe scene. The vibe is funky yet relaxed with exposed brick walls and reclaimed dark wooden benches. It is also noisy so little ones fit in well here. They are made very welcome with highchairs, a kiddie menu and an awesome little toy corner near the front counter.
For lunch, the ‘Kiddie Little Menu’ consists of nuggets or crumbed fish with chips ($9.90). For breakfast, they will love the banana bread or toast with spread ($5.50) along with a babycino or kids milkshake.
For the health conscious or those with dietary intolerances, Kafeine will certainly impress. Nearly half their menu is gluten free and there are several vegan options. They are famous for their juices to cure every ailment (including hangovers, head colds and skin clearing) but they are best known for their super healthy green juice.
If you visit for lunch, the Corn Fritters are a standout item. Gluten free and delicious with a side of quinoa avocado salsa and bacon ($16.90). The rest of the lunch menu has a predominantly Asian influence with items such as Satay Lemongrass Chicken Salad ($17.90); Vegan fresh spring rolls ($11.90); and the Chicken Katsu burger ($15.90).
Kafeine is sure to exceed expectations so next time you are in Balmain, make sure its on your eat list!
