Lid & Jar has a vibe that is trendy and industrial and their focus is on serving a good quality Coffee Brothers brew. They claim you can get your ‘daily dosage of raw’ here, however they are not a whole foods cafe. Their menu does offer a twist on your typical brunch or lunch menu.
The kids breakfast is $8 for fruit salad or ham and cheese toast; and $12 for waffles. For lunch and dinner its $12 with some super healthy options for littles ones such as chicken salad and pasta with tomato sauce. Help yourself to plastic cups, plates and bowls near the front counter and let the kids burn some energy on the lawn whilst waiting for your meal. Babycinos are served in a cute little paper cup with a marshmallow on the side.
Menu items for lunch and dinner range from $12 to $27. Choose from 3 types of sliders (pork belly, salt and pepper crab and southern fried chicken) at $6 each (minimum 2 per order). We ordered the share plate with black and white tahini yoghurt, quinoa tabouleh and green beans ($18) and along with 3 ham and cheese sliders we were all very satisfied. Those with a sweet tooth should check out the range of divine looking baked goods and cronuts.
Lid & Jar definitely have the formula right for a fantastic trendy yet family friendly cafe. Most importantly the staff are friendly and attentive and will go out of their way to make your visit enjoyable.
