We visited Linea Cafe for breakfast on a sunny Saturday morning, so sitting outside at one of their many outdoor tables was preferable. There is plenty of room for a pram outside, but if you wanted to sit inside it would be a bit of a squeeze. The outside seating is right near a very busy road, so it was a bit noisy and if you had toddlers that might run off on you, it may be a bit dangerous. The waitress was very friendly and took time to chat to my kids and make jokes with them. She took our order promptly and the coffee came out relatively quickly, which was tasty. The babychino’s were a good temperature for my small children and came with two marshmallows.
Our food order however did arrive quite slowly and it did not arrive all at once. The cafe did have a constant stream of customers but it wasn’t outrageously busy. The kid’s meal we ordered (cheese on toast) was very generous in size, especially for the reasonable $6 price tag. There was a great selection of pastries at the service window from which my 4 year old chose a Nutella crossiant (naughty but delicious!) Apart from the usual breakfast items, they had a selection of Açaí bowls, of which we chose the dish they are known for – Blue Majik. This was a type of açaí bowl but made with a special blue algae sourced from Canda, and not many cafe’s sell it in Sydney, so they tell me. It was tasty, filling and as a bonus, very good for you! The standard poached eggs, bacon and smashed avocado was fine, but unremarkable.
Children are certainly welcome here, and with a lunch and dinner menu also available there are plenty of opportunities to try Linea Cafe.
