Longueville Sporting Club
Local bowling club without the bowlingSeeming like your typical sleepy bowling club from the outside, Longueville Sporting Club, or “The Diddy” as it’s known by the locals, is actually a haven for kids.
With the green only occasionally used for barefoot bowls, kids are allowed to run wild on it free from the worry of being yelled at by bowlers. Often on a sunny afternoon the greens are filled with a soccer or touch footy game or two, Mother’s with their toddlers in picnic rugs and kids playing tag.
It’s an amazing place to let the kids run while mum and dad enjoy a sneaky wine or two (at bowling club prices!!) or some live music in the summertime. On weekends there are often birthday parties with jumping castles booked on the bottom green.
Plenty of pram space, a basic change table in the disabled toilet and a simple but delicious kids menu, it’s a local secret I shouldn’t really be sharing.
The menu is really nice, but prices of the food are definitely more expensive than the drinks. Kids options are $12 and include a scoop of ice cream for dessert and chips can be substituted for veggies for a small extra fee.
It’s a great place to meet friends, Mother’s group or your kids class party.
