Stepping into Maker’s Loft is comforting and warm. Reclaimed dark wooden tables are scattered throughout the space and handmade craft items adorn the walls and cabinets. The owners have lovingly created this space which encourages little ones to take part in craft activities and to pursue their ‘inner artist’.
Every Monday morning, preschoolers descend for ‘Craftertainment‘ at 10.30am. Craftertainment is ‘story time and craft for the short attention span crowd’. This definitely sums up preschoolers:) Whilst mum enjoys a great coffee, little ones enjoy 1/2 hour of story time and 1/2 hour of craft. What a great way to start the week. Look out for more exciting craft events on their website.
The cafe is open Monday to Saturday and serves a delectable range of homemade treats, breakfast, salads and sandwiches. The kids menu is wonderfully creative. ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ is a sandwich that is just too cute to eat and looks just like the character. The most girly girl will love the ‘The Princess & The Pea’ sandwich, adorned with a pretty princess on top. Lastly, they can choose Green Eggs & Ham (pesto omelette with ham served on an English muffin).
The main menu is simple and well thought out. For breakfast, choose from eggs on toast with sides; raisin toast; banana bread; toast with spread or roasted nut granola with yoghurt and fruit. For lunch, the bruschetta is delicious and they also have a daily selection of melts, wraps and rolls.
Whilst you enjoy breakfast or lunch, craft tables are available to keep little hands busy. This isn’t just any activity table but well thought out craft activities for under 12s. All ages can enjoy this space!
