No 1 William is the rooftop eatery at the Australian Museum in Sydney’s CBD and is our pick for the most kid friendly dining option in the area. You can combine breakfast or lunch here with a visit to the museum or just for a meal. Its a bit of a secret that you don’t need to pay admission to eat here, just enter through the Crystal Hall entrance.
Who doesn’t love a trip to the museum? Parents and little ones alike can wonder through exhibitions of spiders, dinosaurs, Australian reptiles and more. Its slightly nostalgic for parents and educational for little ones. For younger children in preschool and toddlers, the Kidspace area is ideal. Make sure you check out Kids at the AM for everything that is happening for 0-5s.
Once you finally make it up to level 4, you won’t be disappointed. For the little ones, the ‘Little Animal Packs’ are a bit of a highlight. Their own little cardboard box is filled with goodies such as fruit, mini chocolate, juice and their choice of sandwich, chicken tenders or macaroni cheese ($10-$13.50). Individual children’s meals are also available.
Lunch is on the expensive side with options such as barramundi and steak however simple fare such as soup and sandwiches are available. The salad bar changes daily.
No.1 William caters to children in every way. We can’t recommend it enough if you are after kid friendly dining in Sydney’s CBD.
