Rell’s Kitchen is the newly opened dining destination for families in the East. The owner, Narrelle (aka ‘Rell’) has created a warm, friendly and cosy environment for everyone to enjoy. You should even get a few minutes peace whilst the little ones play in the dedicated toy corner. The ‘Kid’s Corner’ comes complete with a chalk board, stickers, colouring, books and more! Narelle even has plans to create an oasis in the back garden for families which can be accessed directly via the back lane way. As a mother of 2 young children, she really understands how to make the space fun and functional for families whilst also providing fantastic food and coffee.
The kids menu is simple and well thought out. Breakfast options include a soft boiled egg with solders ($7); bacon and egg on sourdough ($8); and fruit salad ($6). For lunch choose from a ham and cheese toastie($6); cheese toastie ($5); BLT ($8.50); or BLAT ($9.50). We sampled both the egg with soldiers and ham and cheese toastie. Both received the tick of approval from Miss 4 & Miss 2. Babycinos are free and are presented in a gorgeous melamine cup and saucer with a marshmallow on the side.
For lunch, check out their mouthwatering mains written on the antique display chest. Options include grilled vegetable bake, warm chorizo salad and double cheeseburger! Make sure you come with an appetite. They also have a range of sandwiches and baked goods on display. Menu items change regularly as they use the freshest local produce where possible.
It’s the little touches that set Rell’s Kitchen apart from other cafes. Like the warm wooden antique furniture and teapots scattered around the cafe and the self-service water which has fresh fruit added for that burst of flavour. Narelle has really created a space that you can just relax and enjoy with all the family.
