“Brewed with conviction” – Rocks Brewing Co aim to emulate the traditional ales of early convicts and settlers to Australia consisting of barley, hops, water and yeast. A very Irish brew! Their core range of beers and ales are served in pubs around Sydney and of course at their Brewery Bar. Don’t worry, if you don’t like beer there is so much more on offer here for all members of the family.
The Brewery Bar sits adjacent to the brewery and opens onto a huge courtyard. The cuisine is south American style with favourites such as beef brisket, Louisiana style hot wings and the pulled pork tacos. Traditional comfort food is the order of the day here with a few healthy salads thrown in.
If you are visiting with a large group, it’s always a good idea to book ahead as it can be super busy. For a light lunch, the salmon salad ($24) served with avocado, quinoa and sweetcorn is delicious and gluten-free. If you want to share, there are plenty of starchy bar snacks such as mac ‘n cheese ($13); nachos ($22); crunchy waffle fries ($11); and calamari ($16). On Sundays, they also have a spit roast.
Little ones have their own menu which doubles as a colouring in sheet. The 3 options of Fish and Chips, Cheeseburger or Nuggets are not exciting or healthy but sure to please most children. The vibe of the bar is relaxed so children can sit at the long tables to eat and then run around the courtyard to blow off some steam whilst parents try to relax. Its the perfect venue for large gatherings with children.
Saturday and Sunday afternoons from 2pm they have live music, making Rocks Brewing Co the perfect way to while away weekend afternoons with little ones.
