It was a chilly winters day when 2 adults armed with 5 children set out for an early lunch at Rubys Lane cafe in Manly. Luckily for us the verandah was toasty with heaters and the perfect spot to sit next to the toy box and chalk board. We had heard fantastic things about this cafe and their wholefoods menu, so expectations were high!
The Ruby Juniors menu with appeal to most kiddies and their is no fried food in sight here. One of their must try dishes is the buckwheat pancakes smothered with cacao glazing and topped with bananas and coconut ice cream. Believe me, you won’t want to share yours so they have a kids version for $9. Another all time favourite is dippy eggs and Ruby Lane serve this in a gorgeous carton with spinach and ham on the side ($8). For lunch, lemon infused chicken bites are served with roasted sweet potato ($10).
Breakfast is served until 12pm and many items are available all day. Breads, eggs, muesli and their famous pancakes are on offer. If you are after an energy or immune boost, their huge variety of juices and elixirs will sort you out.
Nutrition is a priority at Ruby Lane and their menu is a refreshing change from standard cafe fare. As they say on their menu, “Our aim is to serve you the most nutrient dense food imaginable on a plate”. The whole family will love dining at Ruby Lane and you will feel fantastic for it.
