If you’re looking for a cafe that does amazing food and has fabulous staff, then this is where to go. With a busy, yet relaxed, atmosphere, we felt very welcome walking in with our toddler who happily sat in her highchair and took in the vibe inside. There wasn’t much room for prams inside, so book outside or be prepared to leave your pram outside if bringing one.
If the weather is nice try to book a table outside, the seating area backs onto a small, although not enclosed, grassy area which could be nice for the kids to play in while they’re waiting to be fed.
Although they don’t have a specific kids menu, the staff were more than accommodating when I asked if they could just do a single pancake for my little one, even confirming whether or not we wanted sugar on top or fresh/glazed strawberries. The juices were amazing and Miss 2 rated her babycino and marshmallow pretty highly too. The breakfast menu is delicious and servings were huge, we definitely didn’t leave hungry!
On a Sunday morning, there was plenty of metered street parking and if you’re as lucky we were, if you walk past Pyrmont Fire Station, you might just be lucky enough to be invited into the fire truck! The friendly fire men and women even gave us a colouring pack which served as great café entertainment, as the café itself didn’t have any pencils (but happily provided a pen) for Miss 2 to draw with. The only downside (and I hate to list one as it was a great café!), was the toilets. They were upstairs and through the kitchen and didn’t have any change facilities but were clean nonetheless.
We plan to head back soon to try the lunch menu 😉
