Sprout Wholefoods Cafe offers something very unique for the area – an enclosed grass area with seating for families alongside a healthy and delicious wholefoods menu. There is no fried food or sugar laden treats here! The children even love the dairy and sugar-free gelato. The cafe is connected with the Wholefoods Grocer next door and the Xtend Barre studio upstairs. You can look after your mind, body and soul; all in one location!
The kids menu is simple and healthy (as you would expect!) and well priced. The kid’s breakfast menu is $6.95-$7.95 and little ones adore the pancake with maple syrup and sugar free ice-cream. For lunch, check out the fun ‘Sprout Lunch Box’ which is comes complete with a cheese toastie, apple popper, natural popcorn and ‘yummy earth’ organic fruit snacks. The grass area out the back also boasts an amazing cubby house. You can even use a picnic blanket provided by the cafe to relax with the little ones. Nothing is too much trouble!
If you have any type of food allergy or intolerance, this is the place to come for a delicious meal. They cater for gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, vegan, paleo and raw diets. All items are organic where possible and the philosophy is to serve unprocessed wholefoods. They use Little Marionette coffee which is smooth and rich, with chocolatey undertones. The standout breakfast items are always the homemade ‘paleo granola’ with sheep’s milk yoghurt; the Spouted Wellness Stack; the ‘super green toast’ with avocado, goats curd, pesto, sprouts & lime; and their signature bacon and egg roll on a Brasserie roll.
Lunch is served from 11.30am with salads, goodness bowls, burgers and wraps. The ‘goodness bowls’ are served warm and are literally bowls packed with superfoods using ingredients such as kale, quinoa, vegetable and tahini. You will walk away feeling full, satisfied and hopefully bursting with energy.
If you are after something sweet yet healthy, check out their display cabinet. You won’t believe such tasty food is actually good for you. A favourite of mine are the ‘bliss balls’ which are unprocessed and full of goodness. The grocer stocks a range of wholefood products, including organic meats and baby items.
