Tank Deli cafe achieve the perfect balance of being child friendly but also offering an urban and trendy environment with amazing coffee and food. Its surrounded by beautiful heritage houses on a tree lined street. Come here after school drop off and it is buzzing with parents and prams. The cafe itself is not large but they do have covered outdoor seating on the street. Parents with toddlers will prefer to sit inside near the playpen and there is plenty of room for prams inside and out. The service is very friendly and the owner offered to bring me a high chair immediately once I was seated.
Tank does not have a children’s menu, however you can request your little one’s favourite breakfast and lunch items and the staff will do their best to accommodate! We ordered the Double Ham and Egg roll ($7) to share with tomato relish. The turkish toast was thick and fluffy and the tomato relish balanced with the ham and egg perfectly. I don’t usually like a ‘Bacon and Egg’ roll, however this was amazing.
By far, the favourite part of my visit to Tank was the Frankie Shi coffee. Frankie Shi is a multi award winning Canberra-based roaster and I found the caramel undertones and robust strength to be utter perfection.
Tank Deli Café supports children all the way, from within the café to the local schools and charities. During summer, children will love the gelato bar and they also have a cute selection of biscuits and cake pops.
