The Grounds Keeper’s motto is ‘Where the earth’s riches are transformed into delectable dishes’. They aim to provide the freshest local ingredients, from freshly laid eggs to just-picked produce. They have plenty of covered and open seating and is a parents paradise as they can sit and relax whilst watching little ones play, everyone is happy!
The Little Grounds Keeper breakfast menu is fab with so much choice for little ones.Choose from ham and cheese toast; eggs with bacon, omelette and pancakes with strawberries, ice cream and maple syrup ($9.50). The Little Grounds Keeper lunch menu is $9.50 with the choice of chicken tenderloins with chips, cheeseburger or penne Napolitana. They really know how to look after little ones here with kid sized drinks too and plenty of highchairs. The atmosphere is really friendly and the staff went out of their way to help.
You will notice a Mediterranean feel to the menu with plenty of spices used and dishes such as Shakshousha (baked eggs with sausage), Fooul Medamis (crushed Fava beans topped with a boiled egg, veges and pita) and Fatit Al Homos (pita bread with chick peas, minted yoghurt and slow cooked lamb – yum!). Make sure you bring your appetite as portions are generous and the cooking delicious. For lunch they aim to bring even more fire and flavour to your plate with sharing plates, burgers, salads and wraps.
If you still have room, the freshly baked goods are delicious. We enjoyed a blueberry and ricotta muffin but were also eyeing off the lemon meringue pies. The Grounds Keeper manages to pull off that delicate balance between offering fabulous food and also a family friendly setting perfectly.
