The Local Trade I Kellyville

The Local Trade really does have the locals covered – great coffee, a sheltered playground, amazing food, easy parking…what more could you want!

The Local Trade is a newcomer to the café scene in The Hills having opened midway through 2015. It is located at the far end of the Kellyville Village Shopping Centre and although it might just be locals that have known about it so far, once word gets out about this little suburban gem, the locals are going to have to wait in line!

For busy folks, the café’s location on the outside of the shopping centre means that you can also grab some groceries, visit the pharmacy, the butcher and pick up your dry cleaning as well as have an amazing brunch all in multi tasking extravaganza.

The Local Trade has the Mums & Dads well and truly covered. You are front and centre at a great little playground, that is covered with a shade sail. The equipment is not too big, so it’s great for under 5’s. You have time to grab a table, place your order, and have a play while you wait for your delicious food to arrive at your table at the front of the café – the playground is THAT close! Then once you are back at the table, if your little minions are getting restless, there is always the paper and crayons happily provided which should give you just enough time to finish your coffee.

Open from 7am during the week, you can swing by for your morning heart starter, and be back in the car in 5 minutes flat. Toby’s Estate is the brew on offer and their resident barista’s make a mean cup of coffee. With some tempting treats in the display cabinet like cannoli, eclairs, and Ferrero Rocher tarts, you will require strong will power to resist.
One our visit, we tried the Banana Bread ($8.50) that is drizzled with maple syrup and served with mascarpone. Warm, sweet and delicious – this one had my 4 year old in heaven. She washed it down with the kids Strawberry Milkshake ($4.00), that is sweet enough for kids to love.

I tried the café special of an Acai Bowl. Acai smoothie served with fresh fruit, toasted granola, coconut, almond and mint. ($15.00). RUN, don’t walk, to get in for one of these. I can think of no better way to start my Monday than with this delicious bowl of fruity goodness. I will definitely be back for another!
Breakfast is available all day and there are some great options for adults and kids alike: Sweet Potato Fritters , Charred Corn, Beetroot Jam & Sumac ($18.50) or Eggs & Soldiers ($8.00)

If you are looking for something more substantial for lunch try the Grain Fed Scotch Fillet ($19.00) or a delicious Spice Lamb Salad $19.00. For the Kids there is the Cheesy Burger & Fries ($9.00) or maybe a Ham & Cheese Toastie also served with fries for $9.00.

The Local Trade in Kellyville is all about location, location, location right next to the playground. So if you want to relax and the kids want to play and you all want to enjoy some delicious food & drinks – then this is the café for you!
