The Runaway Spoon is hidden away in the corner of the carpark at Lindfield shops, a short walk from the station. They offer plenty of alfresco and inside seating with room for prams. The staff are very welcoming and friendly with little ones. The atmosphere is fun with music and noise.
The kid’s menu is $12 and includes a drink. It is great that they offer healthy and interesting option to little ones such as fruit skewers rolled in coconut; boiled egg with soldiers; and kids grazing plate with fruit & veggie strips, hommus & bread.
The breakfast menu is served until 11.30am weekdays and all day on weekends. They offer good variety from pancakes to porridge to corn fritters or a big breakfast. The standout for me was the Di Gabriel coffee which is strong, creamy and robust, The ‘ladies who lunch’ all file in over weekday lunch to enjoy salads, sandwiches, pasta, burgers and corn fritters.
Tablespoon offers the perfect venue for mothers group gatherings or casual coffee or brunch. There are unfortunately no change facilities for babies. The atmosphere is positive and welcoming of families, so check it out if you are in the area.
