The Scarborough Hotel is about 30 minutes south of Sutherland, perched beautifully upon the cliff overlooking an amazing view is The Scarborough Hotel. It is a gorgeous old building built in 1886, its stately façade gives way to a stunning outdoor terrace with a priceless view of endless water and sunshine. However, there are a number of dining areas indoors if the perfect view is a little too much for you, the horizon balcony and quarry room are also beautifully appointed rooms in which you can eat.
But for little ones you can’t go past the seacliff garden huts and tables. The grass area is the perfect spot for little ones to have a ball. It is possible to reserve these areas but you will need a minimum of 6 (table) or 14 (hut) people and spend $150 and $350 respectively. Otherwise you can try your luck.
The menu was exactly what you’d expect of a seaside pub with various seafood options such as a cold seafood plate, platter of prawns, fish and chips and linguini pasta with prawns, chorizo and sauce. The kids menu is limited to fish and chips and chicken schnitzel and chips but there is nothing stopping you sharing any of the main menu options with them.
After an amazing meal, head to the local beach for some fun in the sand and sun!
