The Mews Mosman is a cute cafe somewhat tucked away on a bright laneway. It has a European feel, and offers a number of options for those with intolerances and dietary requirements (eg, vegetarian, gluten free) which is handy, and can also make modifications on request.
My friend and I both ordered a signature salad (a vermicelli one, and a roasted pumpkin one), and they did not disappoint! They were beautifully presented with fresh ingredients. We also got two pots of tea and a mango and passionfruit smoothie (which came with a coconut and honey rim, yum!). As we were spoilt for choice, we also enjoyed a gluten free rose and lychee cake and ‘raw food’ vegan lemon slice (eg, no cooking involved). These were both scrumptious, and I was particularly impressed by the raw food slice (I’ve had some not so great experiences with such desserts!).
My 1 year old boy enjoyed the kids fruit salad, which with it’s mix of bright colours, flavours and bite-size pieces was perfect for little hands.
One very useful addition, however, would be a change table. Whilst there was a bathroom none was provided. High chairs were provided though and there was some pram access; there is a step up to the inside of the restaurant, which can be avoided by sitting outside. This is what my friend and I did (both with bubs in prams), however another diner happily ate inside the restaurant with a pram.
The service was excellent, with staff who were very helpful and attentive. The waitresses also took care the serve food and drink away from curious little hands (which was appreciated!), and provided us with plastic cups for the water. I would happily recommend this cafe!
