A great and friendly little gem of a café. Best by the window with a friend or two. Mostly frequented by coffee loving locals and very kid friendly. Not recommended though for a big group all with prams. Owner seems to know many customers very well and enjoys engaging and catching up.
Though West Concord seems like a sleepy little neighbourhood, the location is actually perfect for starting a day exploring Sydney’s Olympic park by foot or bike. Parking is free in the streets and getting there by train is also less complicated than changing trains twice for “Olympic Park.” Stadiums are about a 20 minute walk through the lovely Bicentennial Park.
Coffee is great and food is yummy! Breakfast items until 11.30 on menu, but in practice can be all day. “Just ignore what it says on the menu luv,” another customer calls out when I ask if I can still get the French Toast.
Lunch choices are a selection of cheap sandwiches and wraps which seem to be quite customiseable. Salads and 2-3 warm dishes are also offered, all under $15.
On the negative side, there is an on site bathroom, which is good at a push, but really not great if you have to take baby or even 2. No changing table and you have to walk through the kitchen. Could use a little makeover. Also Cards or Eftpos are not accepted.
