Valentine Cafe
A hidden gem with great coffee and lots of spaceThis hidden gem is tucked away in the Valentine Sports Park, and well worth a visit. They offer a number of options for those with intolerances and dietary requirements (eg, vegetarian, gluten free), all marked on the menu which is handy.
We went on two occasions; once for breakfast and once for lunch. I ordered a “Valentine Brekkie”, which is a big breakfast with especially tasty mushrooms and chorizo. For lunch, I was accompanied by friends and my 1 year old son, and we adults all enjoyed the top notch 6 Beans Coffee Co coffee. I enjoyed a Peri-Peri Grilled Chicken Burger, with gluten free bread and chips. Win! It was well seasoned with tender chicken. My son enjoyed the chicken nuggets, chips & juice from the kids menu. My friends ordered the Grilled Open Steak Sandwich and Salt & Pepper Calamari, which were also thoroughly enjoyed. Conveniently, menus are available to view online.
The kids menu doubles as a colouring and find-a-word activity sheet to keep kiddies amused. Although, the choices are limited to chicken nuggets, fish cocktails or mini steak with chips and a juice popper. The serving sizes are very generous though and great value for money. You may wish to share a plate between two small eaters. Healthier options can be ordered from the adult menu or a range of freshly prepared sandwiches at the counter.
Pram access is no issue at all here with no stairs. There is also a unisex disabled access toilet with a change room.
The open layout is handy and spacious for wheeling tots around tables. The cafe is situated next to an indoor sports field, separated by a wall of glass for additional entertainment when games are held. There is also outdoor seating available.
In conclusion, great coffee, great food, and kid-friendly. I would happily recommend this cafe!
