Sydney: Top 10 Kid Friendly Pubs

Little Eats' guide to Sydney's best kid friendly pubs and clubs

Here at Little Eats we have noticed a recent shift in the focus of Sydney pubs towards becoming family friendly. They are no longer just the domain of adults and if you visit on a Sunday they will most likely be overrun with excited children. Here is our guide to Sydney’s Top 10 Family Friendly Pubs:

1. Belrose Hotel, Belrose

Belrose Hotel really is the ultimate family friendly pub dining experience. The drawcard is the 2 soft play areas which cater for babies and older children separately. The kids menu is spot on and there is plenty of choice for adults.

 2. The Backyard: Briars at Greenlees, Concord

The Backyard is a spacious bistro at the back of a suburban sports club, tucked away in Concord, serving daily $12 specials alongside a more expensive a-la-carte option. Whether you are a club member or not kids are welcomed with open arms, they’re even allowed to run riot on the bowling green.

 3. The Australian Hotel and Brewery, Rouse Hill

The perfect venue for a family meal or mothers group catch up. They were recently voted the ‘Best Family Friendly Hotel’ in NSW and they cater for all the family with two indoor play areas, kids meals, face painting, delicious food and more. Of course, it is also the place to come for their specially handcrafted beer.

 4. The Rocksia, Arncliffe

The Rocksia Hotel is a fantastic family friendly pub with generous meals and affordable prices. Families will love their Funday Sunday which is run from 1-3pm and includes a well organised farm and face painting for your little ones. It is definitely one to check out!

 5. The Henson, Marrickville

A mad, loud, frantic, kids taking over the joint, family friendly pub. Delicious gourmet pub grub and standard favourites, like burgers, fish and chips and tacos. Busy and frantic weekend evenings, more tranquil weekdays at lunchtime. A space where there’s something for everyone.

6. Hotel Pennant Hills, Pennant Hills

This local landmark has been transformed into a family friendly bistro serving excellent food with an indoor play area . Head here for Sunday lunch to enjoy the free kids’ entertainment between 1-3pm. This includes Jesse the Cowgirl, Roxy Montana, Stephanie from Lazy Town and more. The cafe is open from 9.30am-12pm if you are after a quick bite in the morning.

7. Sporties Moorebank Sports Club, Hammondville

Moorebank Sports Club or ‘Sporties’ is located in Hammondville and ticks all the boxes for Little Eats in terms of facilities for little ones. Their bistro pizzas are delicious and generous and their free dinners for children on Monday-Wednesday make it worth a visit.

8. The Ranch Hotel, North Ryde

The Ranch claims that they ‘love children’ and I would have to agree with this statement. I have never seen such a fantastic array of facilities and activities just to entertain and educate little ones at a restaurant. Sit back and relax with a wine and enjoy the delicious food whilst they are happily entertained. Enjoy a free kids meal with every adult meal purchased every lunch and all day Sunday.

9. Castle Hill RSL, Castle Hill

A Hills institution, the Castle Hill RSL is a family friendly, relaxed environment where everyone can enjoy a meal without the worry of upsetting other diners. Now with a fabulous new undercover play area!

10. Panania Diggers, Panania

Panania Diggers is a family friendly RSL with a fantastic outdoor play area. The outdoor space contains a playground with park style equipment, large grassed area, train carriage and netted climbing frame. There is something to entertain kids of all ages here, whilst parents can enjoy generous bistro meals and delicious cake and coffees.
